Nothing here is a commitment. Pick one, ignore the rest, come back in six months. That's all completely fine.

- 04Visit a church. You can turn up, sit at the back, say nothing, and leave. Nobody will make you stand up and introduce yourself. Really.
- 05Talk to a Christian you already trust. Not to be recruited — to ask the awkward questions to someone whose face you can see.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of relaxed sessions where people explore the basics of Christianity together. Usually there's food, a short talk, and then conversation in a small group.
The part people don't believe until they go: you can disagree with everything and say so. Nobody is required to pray, sign anything, or give money. It runs in a lot of different places — churches, cafés, online, prisons, universities — and it's free.
It's aimed exactly at people in your position: curious, unconvinced, and not wanting to be ambushed.
