This was Jesus’ central teaching theme: the announcement that God’s kingdom — his rightful rule over the world — was breaking in through Jesus’ own presence, teaching and actions. It isn’t a physical territory with borders, but wherever God’s will is done.
Christians believe the kingdom is already present in some sense (wherever God’s rule is lived out now) and not yet fully arrived (its complete fulfilment awaits Jesus’ return). This “already, but not yet” tension runs through much of the New Testament.
